Rod Hager

Rod graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1977 with Bachelors degrees in Arts and Law. Rod obtained a Masters degree in Law from the University of Melbourne in 1983.

Rod was admitted to practice in Victoria in 1978 and from 1981 to 1987 Rod was a partner in a well regarded Melbourne firm and practised in commercial law with an emphasis on transactional real estate work.  In 1987 Rod joined the Perth firm Robinson Cox and was a partner in that firm (which became part of the national firm Clayton Utz) from 1988 until the end of 1995.

From 1996 through to 2007 Rod practised in a small boutique firm with two other commercial lawyers from Clayton Utz and for a short time thereafter on his own account before the establishment of the firm now known as Hager Grubb & Partners.

Rod played football with distinction at the University of Melbourne with the University Blues in the amateurs. Rod was awarded a full blue for football, won best and fairest awards, was captain and president of the University Blues and is a life member of the Melbourne University Football Club. Rod’s interests outside the law are now confined to watching the Fremantle Dockers, reading, gardening and spending time with his grandson (preferably on Cable Beach).

Mrs Mac’s recently secured exclusive distribution rights for its products for the new Perth Stadium.  Rod is regarded as one of the most experienced and capable commercial lawyers practising in Western Australia.
